Swim meet

We survived our first swim meet in Newberry!! I say that because we were all set up outside- and remember it's July-- very very warm- actually very hot! Between the heat and red dirt- we were all very nasty by the end of the day. The children did really good- not as good as we would've hoped- but anytime they compete-and have fun- it's good. J quit many times during the season- Coach Larry was so happy he actually swam! He did really good and was really pumped up when everyone was clapping for him! A swam a couple of different events. He got a heat ribbon for one of his events- so he was extremely happy!! He was the first leg of a relay- he was in an 18 and under group. He didn't race someone close to his age or size- meme thought it was a grown man! Several of our girls on the team got 2nd place for the state- so overall- it was a fun weekend! J was so happy we stayed in a hotel with a pool- he is still asking when we can go back- oh to be so young and thing staying at a hotel with a pool is the best! A is going to work with one of the coaches for a few weeks so he is ready for the fall season. I was very proud of both of them this weekend. We were very happy to get home and finally get settled after a busy weekend. We are now counting the days until daddy comes home- every time J sees him on the computer- he asks the same question~~ "Daddy WHEN are you coming home??" This is tearing daddy up-- I am going to have to start sneaking phone and video calls!
